I'll never do it again!

I realize that it has been so long since I last blogged. I was really on a roll and really getting alot of stuff done. Well for Valentines Day my sweet honey decided that it was time that I get a new monitor. (mostly because I got him one for Christmas and then he couldn't stand using my "small" 15" one!!!) But he couldn't just stop there.......NOPE! Had to get me a new, bigger, better, faster and EVERYTHING different computer. New hard drives......new operating system (Vista.....jury is still out on whether I love it or not!) And the kicker of the whole "new" thing is that I couldn't just transfer all my digital supplies over to the new hard drives without losing all my "tags". Which basically translates to about 6000 files of "stuff", not including my pictures! So yes....for THREE DAYS......I spent ALL day tagging all my files and now it is all updated. Which I love, but the process kinda (well there's no kinda about it) stole my MOJO! So now who knows how long it will be before I get it back!

So other than getting a new computer for me, he also surprised Donavan with guitar hero for the Wii, and for Nikelle he got the American Idol Karaoke game for the Wii, (which sadly I haven't had a chance to try out). We didn't really do anything fun and exciting for V-day, but I did make some Red Velvet cupcakes......which I've had a REALLY hard time sharing! They are SO yummy!
The other big news is that I took our little kitty to get spayed almost 2 weeks ago. Well the last time that I had any experience with a cat that had the surgery, was well over 20 years. I just remember our females coming home and being really lethargic and drugged for about a week. Well the procedure must have gotten better, cause little Spooky was up and jumping the very next day. They told me that the medicine they gave her will make her sleepy, UM.......NOPE! She was just as active the day after the surgery!
Well I'm off to look for my MOJO somewhere around here! Maybe when I get back from getting the stitches out, I'll find it again! Wish me luck!!

Obsessed!!! (Seriously!)

Well I mentioned before that I was finally catching on and getting faster at doing digital layouts.......well now it has become an obsession! I think I finished 3 pages yesterday and 4 today! (Not that I'm counting!) When I saw the L.O.A.D. (layout a day) challenge for January, I thought it was crazy to even try and get 31 layouts done in ONE MONTH! Well as of today, I have completed 14!! And it isn't even the halfway point! Woo-hoo for me! It's been really fun going back and looking at Carissa's pictures and seeing how much she has changed (not necessarily grown!) Here are some of the few layouts I've finished in the last couple of days. I've found a wonderful new digi store called PrimaHybrid. Most of the supplies are from various kits! I really like the Weeds & Wildflowers products.

Finally catching on

Well it's only taken me 8 months to start feeling like I'm getting a handle on this digi scrappin stuff, but I'm finally able to get a page done without going back over my notes! Trust me, that is a VERY big bonus! So I got another page done today. I sat down with the intention of doing one of Carissa's baby pages, but ending up using pictures from when she was one. I found a really cute layout here for my inspiration. I tried to keep it clean and pretty, but I just can't help but grunge it up a bit! Then I also found this great page with the most beautiful journaling ever. I shamelessly lifted the idea and used her story to help mine along. I find that journaling is the hardest part for me, and I really struggle with it. So it is so helpful when someone else can put into words exactly what I'm feeling. Just a few changes and additions to make it say just what I want, and vwhala! 2 pages in one day! I even got dabbling in some hybrid cards using some of the digital supplies.
I had better get to bed before I get started on the next one. Carissa has had an interesting day, and I really hope she is not coming down with a cold. I think she is still cutting her molars, but you never know with her. She's cut 2 of them in the past month, but maybe these last 2 are just being stubborn! But Andrew is still sick from last month, and then me gettin the flu.....you just never know when it will hit you. Not to mention I feel like I'm losing my voice, which is almost always a pretty good indication that a cold is on the way. (Let's hope not!)

On a roll!

You know you are on a roll, when you post twice in one day! It doesn't happen very often (like never) that I take a picture with the purpose of telling a story and then get it down on paper, documented and never again to be forgotten. Today was one of those days. I took a picture of Carissa on top of my kitchen counter yesterday. I finally figured out how she got up there. It took a while, but she finally attempted it again. Apparently she pulled the chair over to the counter, and then used the garbage can to get the rest of the way. She was so fascinated with the plates and cups. But the funniest thing was when I asked her what she was doing...she just answered "I'm just doing something". So that became the title for the layout! Sometimes it's just best to quote it directly! Thankfully she hasn't tried it again today!

Been busy!

Well with all the snow we've been getting this year, I've been finding a bit more time to get back to crafting! I'll probably be back to "normal" about the time we do super saturday again, and then the circle starts all over again!

So I've done a few little Target mailboxes, an bandaid tin and some cute little wood blocks. I bought the wood blocks in a kit last year from Pebbles and just never got around to finishing it. This year when I found it, I decided to make it with patterned paper, cause I bought the Rusty Pickle Chocolate kisses line and was dying to make something with it. I really like how they turned out!
And here is a look at Carissa as a baby. I spent all day yesterday doing photo edits and fixing all of the newborn pictures that I have. Now I just need to get them on a page.
Well I better get goin'....it's nap time.....and that's MY time!!!

The day has come!!!!

Well the day that every parent fears will come......has come! We realized that Donavan wouldn't be able to drive himself to school at all next year if we didn't get him his learner's permit sometime in February. (There's a 6 month waiting period of time they have to wait, regardless of when they turn 16) So yesterday we went to the DMV, and waited 2 hours. He managed to pass the test the first time, and finished after only 10 minutes. The examiner looked at him and asked if he was sure he was finished. Then he corrected it and told him that he had passed. Now we just had to wait for our number to be called.
Now the tough part begins. Having the piece of paper is the easy part......letting him get behind the wheel is going to be REALLY hard! (I have a hard time letting Andrew drive me......I can't imagine what it will be like with Donavan driving) Once we can get some dry parking lots around here, we can take him practice driving without involving too many other people/cars. Wish us luck.........it's going to be a BUMPY ride!!!

Official Weigh-in & Carissa "funny"

Well today it is official. Carissa had her 3 year check. And she broke the 23# mark. OK, they allowed her to wear her clothes, and yes I doubled up on anything that I could . Such as 3 shirts, (undershirt, long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve over it!) Then she wore her "heaviest" pair of jeans and to top it off, she was still wearing her sweater during the weigh-in! They only told me to take off her shoes, so I wasn't going to say anything. But the good news is, is that she has maintained her curve! Basically that just means she has remained at the less than 5%.

Carissa's "FUNNY" for the day! We went to lunch at Wendy's after the appointment, and some construction workers came in. There was one guy who was wearing a bandana on his head. Carissa must have noticed him, because she pointed right at him, and in her only volume (LOUD!) she said, "Hey, he's a PIRATE!" I looked over and noticed him, but apparently he didn't hear her, or I didn't respond fast enough (can't figure out which, probably the latter!) So she repeated it. This time they ALL heard it, and there was roughly 8 guys all laughing at her silliness!! I had to explain to her that he wasn't a "pirate", just was wearing a cover on his head to keep his head warm. Hopefully she won't go around accusing piracy anymore!!!

Well my last post I mentioned that I was having a "ME" day. Well I managed to get my hair cut. Then went to Steve & Barry's. And I had NO IDEA this place was SO huge. I also had NO IDEA that going there on a SATURDAY during a SALE was a terrible idea. The lines just to try on were about a 30 min wait. I did try some things on, but got the wrong sizes. So since I was by myself for my "ME" day, I didn't have anyone to get different sizes for me. Next time I go, I will definately either take someone with me, or grab every size I can find into the fitting room. So basically I spent 2 hours there and didn't buy anything. Then my "ME" day was cut short when Carissa took a one hour nap, she woke up screaming and I came home to cuddle her. Some times I glad that that's the one thing that she ALWAYS wants me for. Any other time, she only wants her dad! But it's these little moments that make me glad I'm the MOM!

Yesterday we had a huge snowstorm during the day. Andrew decided to come home early to try and avoid all the traffic. So at nap time I decided I could go to my scrap room and work on a project. This is an idea that I saw at a local store here and decided that I could do it too! (theirs had tons of buttons on it, and I like a few, but not covering the whole thing) So this is what mine looks like: I decided to paint the canvas, kept the same background paper and the Making Memories chipboard heart. The other stuff is just random stuff I had. I hand cut my letters (Man would I LOVE to have a Silhouette!) and then used some basic grey rub-ons on the letters. I really like how it turned out! Not bad for a couple of hours!

Here is picture of my kitten "Spooky". She LOVES to sleep on my bed, and she will at any chance she gets when I leave my door open! But she won't just sleep ON the bed, she must be UNDER the blanket on the microfleece blanket!

Yes that is her Yawning.....so content until I woke her up!
